ECO-FIERCE INSIGHTS

💌 I originally had a private community space set up for this—but let’s be honest, it wasn’t getting much traffic and portals are a pain in the ass. So I pivoted to something a lot more practical: Eco-Fierce Insights, a no-fluff, all-fire newsletter built for conscious brands that give a damn.

This is where the real talk happens. You’ll get:
✩ Sustainable strategy tips that don’t feel like recycled Pinterest quotes
✩ Behind-the-scenes peeks at what’s working (and what’s not)
✩ Tool recs, resource drops, and branding truth bombs
✩ Pep talks, tough love, and the occasional F-bomb (fair warning)

GEEK OUT WITH GREENGEEKS

⚡ Your website deserves better than some energy-guzzling, coal-powered server farm. GreenGeeks is my go-to for hosting that’s fast, reliable, and powered by 300% renewable energy.

They don’t just run clean—they give back more than they use. Add stellar support and fair pricing to the mix, and you’ve got a web host that actually gives a damn.

TOOLS I NO LONGER ENDORSE + WHY

đŸš« Greenly.earth

Greenly used to be one of my go-to carbon accounting tools, offering Scope 1, 2, and 3 tracking through a fancy interface and polished reports. But here’s the thing—that “sleek interface” comes with a ridiculous price tag, and lately? The support hasn’t kept up. Multiple colleagues told me they got completely ghosted after reaching out for info.

Oh—and fun fact? The service contract they sent me listed a completely incorrect residential address as my business location, alongside my personal contact info. It wasn’t just wrong—it was on the other side of the country, for goodness’ sake. Moreover, after cutting ties with them, they included my work e-mail on another client’s e-mail thread out of the blue. I’m big on data security, and that level of sloppiness? Total dealbreaker.

💾 TL;DR: Greenly might work for enterprise-level companies—or even mid-sized teams that need glossy, investor-grade PDFs. But if you’re a lean, impact-driven business like mine? Skip the paywall and use SME Climate Hub instead. It’s free, accurate, and not hiding behind a glitchy UI or an annoying demo wall.

đŸš« Green Business Benchmark

Nice concept—but not a fit for Autumn Dahlia at this time.

I appreciate what Green Business Benchmark is trying to do, and the team behind it is genuinely kind and well-intentioned. But at $450/year for the Starter tier, what you’re really getting is a fancy checklist and an SVG badge—and that’s a no from me. In fact, the company recommends the Starter package for those not sure if they want to commit to sustainability. The Standard package offers a few extra features, sure, but $1,250/year for basic sustainability education tools and a polished UI just doesn’t justify the price for me.

You can hit Platinum status pretty easily, which means there’s not much to work toward. In my opinion, this kind of tool makes more sense for mid- to enterprise-level businesses with the team bandwidth to get excited over small changes that can make a difference at scale. It’s just not built for lean, impact-driven studios like mine. Personally? I’d rather put that money toward measurable impact—like restoring biodiversity, funding clean water, or regenerating ecosystems.

Instead of relying on a UI-based program like this, I’ve proudly become a People + Planet First verified agency, and continue to partner with the amazing folks at Green America, Ecologi, and other mission-aligned organizations that create tangible change for the cost.
